“At Last” by Etta James VS “At Last” by Glen Miller and Orchestra
This wedding song classic is best known for Etta James’ powerful voice and her smooth delivery of every line. Her arrangement of the song is beyond the most famous, however it is actually a cover from Glen Miller and his Orchestra recorded in the 1940’s for the movie Orchestra Wives. The original song is largely instrumental with a more slow jazz feel and the tune is a lot fuller that James’ faster soulful edition. However, in comparison, I’m going to have to stay with the Etta James cover as it not only exerts the romance it speaks of but carries it into every note.
