Mariami Video Release Party

The Mariami event began with a great DJ set playing R&B and hip-hop. As the place started to fill up, the lights dimmed and the director of the music videos introduced the two videos. The videos were live in-studio performances of songs Mariami was covering. The videos included these performances and short documentary parts about Mariami’s life and her passion for singing. After the two videos finished, The band took the stage and began warming up the crowd with a beautiful musical back drop. After one minute of playing, Mariami came out and began singing. Her voice captivated the whole room. She sang some originals and some covers. The song that stuck out the most to me was her song about her home country of Georgia. This performance was truly amazing and showcased her vocal ability. Even though the venu wasn’t packed, Mariami knew that by the time she finished performing, every person in that room was a fan. Straight out of Emerson College and fully represting Boston throughout her show, I was amazed the whole time. She was so warm and welcoming and such a humble artist. This is just the beginning of her journal, as she writes her lyrics to her career.
