Where Are They Now: Christopher Williams

Christopher Williams was born Troy Christopher Williams on August 22, 1967 in The Bronx, New York. He is also the nephew of Ella Fitzgerald. Not just only talented as a singer, Williams is also talented in the acting industry. His music career really started in the late 1980s when he signed with Geffen Records, producing and releasing many singles such as “Promise, Promise”, “Talk To Myself”, and “Every Little Thing You Do” and also dating one of the most talked about stars, Halle Berry. Their relationship ended when Berry claimed that Williams abused her, causing her to lose hearing in her right ear. While Williams was trying to get his career and life back together after the controversy, he realized that this was the perfect time to jump into the film industry as well. His life was put on pause again, when stylist and designer Maya Hylton found out she was pregnant, welcoming his first child, Justin, in October of 1988, shortly after Williams was even more motivated to continued to grow as an artist.

In 1991, he decided to come back full throttle, not only did he release a single on the soundtrack but was a part of the movie New Jack City. But his passion was really with the music; he decided to focus mainly on that. When he found out he was would be expecting his second child with actress Stacey Dash, again his life was put on pause when his son Austin was born that same year.

For a few years Williams went on hiatus, taking care of his children, but in 2001 he returned to the music scene with Real Men Do signed with Renegade… receiving nothing but positive reviews in Ebony Magazine. In 2005, rumor had it that Williams had passed away from an unknown illness, but in reality he was helping out with Mary J. Blige’s All That I Can Say as well as many other singles from various artists.

Currently, Williams has been in the backgrounds, helping produce and write lyrics for various artists but released his latest CD in October of 2011.

  3. Yeah i alo have read this on wikipedia and either it’s a huge mixup or a coincident because diddy baby mamas name is Misa Hylton and this one is Maya but they were both celebrity stylist.I find this very strange but all over the internet i cannot find anyting that confirms it’s Christopher’s child so wikipedia needs to check the facts.

    • Ladies this biography is completely correct. Justin is Troy’s eldest son it’s just a full coincidence that Misa and Maya Hylton are related and both have named their sons “Justin”. The elder Justin has even worked for Bad Boy Records and now works under Jay-Z at Roc Nation. He’s very much among celebrities he is just VERY low key as Troy has always kept his children out of the lime light and he and maya don’t have a great relationship anymore. Justin’s twitter and Facebook accounts have wide following. As well. How do I know this? I am Troy’s cousin :)
