Fun on the Playgound: Watertown

Attention all Playgroundgoers: If you are looking for something to do on a rainy day, pop on over to Watertown, MA. No matter what age you are, Watertown has something fun for you to enjoy!

If the rain is keeping you away from the parks, head on over to Inside Playground where you can have fun during anytime of the year! Inside Playground has something for everyone (even mom and dad!). There are playground guards that make sure that everything goes smoothly at the playground; so parents can kick back and relax (literally, there are lawn chairs inside for the parents to read, talk, use their free wifi, and even get a nap time)! The Inside Playground is a safe padded area for children to play, and they have just about everything: a GIANT blow up obstacle course, a bounce house, a colorful ball pit, games, toys and so much more! If you don’t feel like packing your own lunch, no worries – the Inside Playground as a snack shack with great yummies. If it is nice out, the Inside Playground continues outside where they have an outdoor playground to run around ! Though parking is always free, the entrance fee is not. Kids under 8 months, as well as the first adult, enters free. Then the first child is $10 and additional children are $8 while additional adults are $2.

Right around the corner from Inside Playground is Watertown’s Extra Innings, an indoor batting cage facility. Here you can train for upcoming games, seasons, or simply just hit around some balls for fun! There is also a shop located there so that you will be able to buy all of your baseball needs! It is a fun way to keep some summer fun all year long! It gives you – as well as mom and dad – a chance to be like the Red Sox in the big league!

If you are looking for some free rainy day fun, head on over to the Watertown Public Library! Yes, I know that reading doesn’t sound too fun in the summer months; however the Watertown Public Library makes it very enjoyable! Their children’s room is GIANT, and consists of different age sections. The library provides story time, coloring, and much more! You can also sit with mom and dad to read a story as a family. There is a teen room with computers , magazines, books, and bean bags for older siblings to sit back and enjoy their time at the library as well. Don’t stress about getting hungry – the library has a delicious café and there are many restaurants surrounding the area. Also check out their website, because sometimes the library even has occasional movie showings!

That’s all this week Playgroundgoers. Hope that you can enjoy those rainy, summer days. Don’t forget to check back in next week for more cool places that you can visit as well as new album reviews!
