You know the saying “two heads are better than one”? Well, they’re right! The Showtek brothers, Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen, have definitely put their heads together to make it far in the electro scene. Oh, and did I also mention they’re part of the “Top 100 DJs!”?
The Showtek brothers have recently done some amazing collaboration work with artists like Tiesto and Hardwell, having released a few hit songs that have made their mark. Their energy and vibe also go hand-to-hand on stage, especially when they perform their signature “Jump.” That is, when they tell the whole crowd to get down to the floor and when the beat comes in everyone jump up high. Hard to imagine? I know it is, because I was lucky enough to even interview them and be on stage during their performance.
Meeting the brothers I was wondering which one of the two dragged the other or began to start get into the electro world. Fun thing is none of them did! It wasn’t until their mom gave them a synthesizer for Christmas that they began to produce. Note to self: Ask for a synthesizer this Christmas. After a year or two of their hard work, they were able to to produce their first record label. Speaking of record labels, they also founded the Dutch Hardstyle label of Dutch Master Works back in 2005, two years before their album release of Today Is Tomorrow.
The two brothers are definitely some cool people to talk to and of course their music is just as epic – it would make you want to literally scream, “Hell Yeah!” Showtek are on the right path and Identity is going make sure their name is spread across. On top of that, they are working on a “Crazy Collabs” project with other artist from different genres to create new music. I’m also going to throw out there that they spoke to Noisia about working together some day! You should also stay tuned for some of that awesome collaboration that they have kicking on Sep. 3rd. The artist? I’ll just keep it a secret from you for now.
To stay tuned with more of the Showtek brother’s music, crazy collabs, and upcoming projects, make sure to check them out at their website.
