All A Capprofile: AaronicStuff

Whether you define it as “vocal electronic music” or “a cappella dubstep”, the upcoming artist AaronicStuff is changing the way we understand a cappella music. With the combination of his viral YouTube videos and song selections, AaronicStuff is creating an entirely new genre of a cappella with his original arrangements of electronic music and dubstep that he performs all on his own.

You can’t help but wonder how someone would get the idea of creating a cappella covers of electronic music. In an interview with Soundgrail, a website for the latest news in electronic music, AaronicStuff explains that he began creating these videos out of a falling out with his short-lived hobby in music production. After dabbling in music production for two months, he decided that he wanted to tackle creating a cappella covers of his favorite electronic songs. Beginning with Flux Pavilions hit “I Can’t Stop”, he began to create YouTube videos displaying his new-found hobby.

With over five millions views on YouTube, there is no denying that his viral videos are beginning to change what we think of as traditional a cappella. In almost every video of his covers, AaronicStuff makes a point to use the videos to show the entire process of meshing together all of his vocals. Each video contains multiple shots of him singing each vocal part with a label to match. Besides from the occasional focus on the melody, you are able to see how he creates these one man a cappella dubstep masterpieces. His newest video is his cover of Passion Pit’s single “Take a Walk”.

Also, YouTube has been the perfect place for his arrangements to flourish. The videos have a drawn a loyal fan base that is constantly growing. People are initially drawn into the song choice of his covers, then later realize how he harnesses the power of the human voice. AaronicStuff’s work is drawing in fans to a cappella that may not have listened to the genre before.

AaronicStuff’s talent, constant innovations, and musical styling will get him very far in the a cappella world. The artists hopes to compile all of his arrangements into one album that will be released later in 2012. Until then, you can check out his music on his YouTube channel and stay updated on his info through his Facebook profile. Here on All A Cappella, we are always looking for the next big thing in a acappella, and it is safe to say that AaronicStuff is it! You can hear it for yourself right here.
