This or That: Wildflower

“Wildflower” by Skylark VS “Wildflower” by New Birth

I fell in love with the song “Wildflower” when I heard soulful band New Birth do it. The lead singer’s powerful vocals make me feel the various emotions of this song. However I was shocked to find out it was an original song from Canadian band Skylark and written by Doug Edwards and Dave Richardson in 1972. The original is alright, but it is not as touching as New Birth’s version. The lead singer’s raspy voice just touches your soul and makes you feel loved, protected and understood. A lot of other artists covered the song, but nothing compares to New Birth’s version! What do you think?
