Forming a supergroup to end all supergroups, Thom Yorke and producer Nigel Goodrich (Radiohead), Flea (Red Hot Chilli Peppers), Joey Waronker, and Mauro Refosco teamed up to form experimental rock and electronica powerhouse Atoms for Peace. AFP formed in 2009 and is planning to have an actual album released in 2012. The band is named after the famous Dwight D. Eisenhower speech and a track from Yorke’s solo album, Eraser.
Fitting Yorke’s experimental modus operandi, the band hasn’t released any actual tracks but rather remixes of still unreleased tracks. This has kept the Atoms of Peace’s sound a mystery. The track is entitled “Other Side – Stuck Together Remix.” It is part of 12” single EP called 40WEAPONSXTR01 that can be picked up at Monkeytown Records.
Since this isn’t a Third Man Records release, it’s safe to say this isn’t part of the Radiohead/Jack White mystery project. I’m not quite sure what to think of this track myself but I can bob my head to it and I’m sure Yorn of already thought of some freaky way to shimmy to it. I think the lyric being repeated over and over again is “You get away so easily.” But what do you think it is? Please discuss below in the comments section below. You can check out the track at Consequence of Sound.
