Midnight Spotlight: Free Life

Each week, 889@Night will recognize local unsigned talent and promote their music on air as well as on our website. We highlight the talented few who got that “fire”. By the end of the week, we let our listeners choose whether they want these artists to be added to constant rotation or not. This week starting today, August 6th, 2012, we are highlighting local rap group Free Life and playing their music at midnight and 12:30 am every night this week.

Free Life is a Boston based Hip-Hop group that was created in 2011. The group consists of three close friends that have known each other for a long time. “A Sanchez,” “J-Fly High,” and “Tyler Savage” are the three members of the group. They put their musical talents together to make music for everyday people and to represent the struggle and hard times that these people go through. Their music is used to shed light on some of the harsh realities that people are living with. Their music uses witty word play over good production and it creates quality music for listeners.

When they aren’t making music together, the three are working on solo projects. “Tyler Savage” is currently working on his fifth mixtape entitled #VibeWithMe. J-Fly High released his debut mixtape The Piff Tape a few months ago. Finally A Sanchez is currently working on his debut mixtape Music.Sneakers&ThatFreeS**T.

Tune into 889@Night this week to hear music from Free Life on air and leave your comments about their music on this post. Let us know if you think they should be added to our rotation! For more information on Free Life, check them out here.

  2. These young men are really talented together and solo. They have worked really hard to get to where they are. I hope they get the break they deserve.
