The Gaslight Anthem Release “Handwritten”

The Gaslight Anthem has finally released their fourth LP, Handwritten. NPR got on the boat last week and provided a full live stream of the album, putting fans in a frenzy. The band has just played a couple sold out shows revving them up for all of the hype. Handwritten has been received wildly well amongst the crowds, sporting maturity and the reaping back of the punk roots of the band.

For all of our Bruce Springsteen fans at WERS, The Gaslight Anthem can relate. The band has a deep pride for New Jersey and their Boss. Bruce actually appeared on stage with The Gaslight Anthem during two shows in England, accompanying a Gaslight acclaimed single, “59 Sound”. The Boss then played a newer Gaslight song, “American Slang”, in 2011 on the home ground of Asbury Park. Only the dearest of excitement comes from Bruce’s mouth when he speaks of the band. He just recently had Gaslight Anthem vocalist Brian Fallon join him on stage in Hyde Park for a performance of the classic “No Surrender”.

If you haven’t already taken a listen to The Gaslight Anthem, don’t just take Bruce’s word for it. Be sure to fall into their newest album, Handwritten. Check out the single from their album above.
