Midnight Spotlight: Real P

Each week, 889@Night will recognize local unsigned talent and promote their music on air as well as on our website. We highlight the talented few who got that “fire”. By the end of the week, we let our listeners choose whether they want these artists to be added to constant rotation or not. This week starting today, July 16th, 2012, we are highlighting local rapper Real P and playing his music at midnight and 12:30 am every night this week.

Real P was born in Houston, Texas but raised in Roxbury, MA. His parents are of Nigerian and Liberian descent. The P in Real P stands for “Politikz.” Real developed his passion for music under the influence of his “vinyl junkie” father and five older brothers. Real began his musical career in 2001 by freestyling with friends and then entering talent shows at school and around the city. In 2002 he began his career as a DJ which also allowed him to express his love for music.

Real P is one third of the Famous Nobodies crew (which also includes rappers Dutch Rebelle and Brook). He is also considered the voice of the crew. Real has built his career on quality and passion for the music. When it comes to making music, Real P always goes all out to deliver. He is always bringing something fresh and innovative to the table. He has performed countless times at various venues around Boston and has made quite a name for himself. With the help of his
Famous Nobodies camp, there’s no limit to the music and to the success he can achieve.
