- About WERS
Everyone grew up with that certain artist that they still listen to that gets their hips shaking and feet shuffling. So let me introduce to you my friend Knife Party; Knife Party this is my friend (insert your name here).
Two members of the electro rock band Pendulum, Gareth McGrillen and Rob Swire, founded knife Party. This Australian electro house and dubstep team first performed at Space, Ibiza on August 2011. Around the beginning of December 2011, Knife Party dropped their first EP, 100% No Modern Talking, which became a big hit. They also released a recent EP called Rage Valley on May 2012.
Even up to this day there isn’t much info about this duo, besides the fact that they state “Seizure Music” on their Facebook bio page and “Derpstep,” which is quiet entertaining to read if I might say. But I’ve got to admit, what other way can you describe their music? It’s such an awesome bass-licking, brain-banging, seizure-licious experience. With music like “Centipede”, from their recent EP Rage Valley, it will make you feel a crawling sensation of a thousand legs running through your every nerve (dubstep legs that is). Hey let us not forget the fact that their EP has been ranked in the top 10 in the top dance albums on iTunes.
It’s only a matter of time until this duo spreads faster to the ears of the ragers. I know I have high hopes for this duo and their talent and I know they are ready to serve us over a “Bonfire” and share it with our “Internet Friends.” Sooner or later you’ll go out saying “I use to listen to Skrillex, until I brought a Knife to the Party!”
As of now, Knife Party has been touring back and forth between countries but will be stopping close by in the east coast later on the year. Their next huge upcoming stop to the US will be at the Electric Zoo Festival. Don’t forget to also listen to Pendulum’s music, the band where the group originally began. You can find more of their touring locations and music on their website.
