By Hope Harris

Attention all playgroungoers! If you love to use your imagination, love to do art, or simply enjoy having fun, I have found a new way that will allow you to be creative and learn new things about art without stepping foot into a museum! 2011 Parents’ Choice Silver Honor Award Winner, Hope Harris, has released her second album called Picasso, That’s Who! (And So Can You!) and she is ready to bring art history to your ears, house, and car!

Hope Harris has appeared on a countless amount of stages both big and small, ranging from the St. James on Broadway to the Bluebird Café in Nashville. She has recently branched off to focus more on performing for family-friendly shows surrounded by children. In 2011, Harris came out with her very first family-friendly album called Cousins Jamboree that was featured in publications nationwide and gave her the 2011 Parents’ Choice Silver Honor Award! It looks like this award only pushed Hope Harris further into her music as she released Picasso, That’s Who! (And So Can You!) on May 22, 2012!

This album is a musical journey through the 19th and 20th century visual artists! You will be able to learn about Jackson Pollock, Pablo Picasso, David Hockney, Clause Monet and many more! Listen as you venture through Spain’s Spanish rythms and instruments when Harris sings about the fabulous painter Picasso, “Who as a boy loved to draw? Born in Spain, doodled everything he saw?” Or rock out to the new retro 60s groove rock and roll style that will be sure to keep your feet moving when learning about Jackson Pollock! Throughout the album there are many different paces and music genres to be shared with you that all relate back to the artist that the song is about.

Picasso, That’s Who (And So Can You!) is sure to get you, the family, as well as all your teachers dancing and singining along! It will inspire you to go and pick up a crayon, or marker, or paint brush, or simply anything and create your own artistic masterpiece! For more information on Hope Harris, visit her website. If you like what you hear, stay tuned – in spring of 2013, Harris is releasing her next album called Lemonade Stand!
