Fun on the Playground: Natick

Summer has just begun! And for anyone who is looking to find some serious summer fun, Natick is the place for you!

Natick is a fairly large town that neighbors Newton and Framingham and it’s just bustling with great summer family activities! There is much more to this town than just the very popular Natick Collections. Natick offers a wide variety of family activities ranging from wildlife conservations to amusement parks and playgrounds.

One of The Playground’s very own playdates will be happening soon in Natick – The Center for Arts is holding the Fairytale Detective Agency: A Musical Theatre Workshop! This event will be from 9 am to 12 pm on Monday, June 25th. This workshop will be a fun learning experience for any child that is interested in the arts! And for a one-stop fun activity, visit Aladdin’s Castle! It’s an indoor amusement palace. It has everything from arcade games to bumper cars!

Natick also holds the key to many great outdoor treasures and activities. The first stop you should make is the Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary. This sanctuary has everything a nature lover could want! There are nine miles of walking trails through woods and wetlands. There are even a few gristmill and sawmill sites that provide a little extra fun and learning into this outdoor haven. Also, the wildlife is incredible; you can view beavers, wood ducks, and otters from the bridge over Indian Brook. There is even a solar-heated nature center that presents exciting programs for all ages year round!

Another stop to make in Natick is Lookout Farm! At Lookout Farm, you can pick seasonal fruit and enjoy a visit to the shop where they sell everything from meats to delicious baked goods, organic produce, and gelato. There are even great things for the kids including train rides, the children’s playground, animals, a climbable hay pyramid, and much more. Plus the weekends present even more adventures! On the weekends, the farm offers face painting, hourly children’s entertainment, and seasonal camel and pony rides!
