One of my favorite Playground bands, who brought you “Covered In Band-Aids”, is back! Step right up, Playgroundgoers – it’s time to set foot into the new big top circus that is the Recess Monkey album, In Tents! If you love sitting down and eating popcorn, riding on Tilt-a-Whirls, human cannonballs, and dancing bears, then this three-ringed adventure is for you! Each CD is contains a 32 page story booklet with photographs taken by Kevin Fry. It livens up the CD case and lets you know more about the album and the songs that are sung just for you!

The three teachers, Jack Forman, Daron Henry, and Drew Holloway, form Recess Monkey to come together and make their eighth album one you will be able to sing and boogie along to! They met while they were all teaching at the same Seattle school and released their very first album in 2005.

Listen in as you hear never before keyboard rhythms, roving trombone slides, and a new, uplifting singer in In Tents as Dean Jones, from family-friendly band Dog on Fleas, produces and stars in this new album! In Tents brings in many other guest artists, including Lunch Monkey, Sugar Free Allstars, and The Pop Ups!

In Tents has no limit; it brings all different styles of music from the swing in “Edwina Mae” to the rock and roll sound in “Human Cannonball” and “Bouncy House” – but the music doesn’t stop there! Recess Monkey became very clever, bringing a new height of humor to their music with lyrics like “Momma is a card shark when she plays Go Fish” and they sing about mothers putting mustard on everything along with the big sister collecting lint from the dryer to make pillows (Ewww!). However, Recess Monkey pulled off this crowd-cheering performance in their show that will never end. This is definitely one circus to check out!

There are fifteen songs on this album that will amaze you and get you moving right out of your seat to start cheering and singing along.
