Riddims Watch: Bassline Riddim

The highly anticipated , produced by Di Genius, had its release this month. With all the heavy hitters on it (Aidonia, Mavado, Busy Signal, Gyptain, Di Genius, Chino, Sean Paul, and Elephant Man), this is definitely a riddim to watch this summer. Standouts on the riddim are Mavado’s “I Swear”, Aidonia’s “Bad Inna Di Dance”, Sean Paul’s “Find It”, and Busy Signal’s “Bubble Up”. Mavado’s “I Swear” is for the paper chasers, Aidonia’s is danceable for the clubs, Sean Paul’s is also a party track, and Busy Signal’s one of my favorites on riddim is something to bump in your car and will get you amped at the  dancehall. Though all of them have potential, I believe these will be the ones to take off from the riddim. I was actually surprised to Sean Paul on the track listing, it seems to stray away from his current sound and he is actually flying solo on this track, coming off a few features this year; all in all he did a good job. Going back to the actual riddim itself, it will do well because Di Genius always produces fire, and he himself is featured on the riddim, which is worthy of a few spins! Be sure to listen to Rockers from 7-10PM Monday-Friday to hear this and all the newest and hottest riddims, from Kingston to Boston!
