This or That: “(I Know) I’m Losing You”

Rod Stewart – “(I Know) I’m Losing You”  VS  The Temptations – “(I Know) I’m Losing You”

It’s pretty simple: our favorite is the original with the smooth soulful sounds of The Temptations. Rod Stewart did a good job with the cover, but nothing beats the raw emotions of David Ruffin’s soulful cries and the effortless background vocals from Eddie Kendricks, Melvin Franklin, Paul Williams, and Otis Williams . Although Ruffin was with The Temptations for all but four years, he definitely left his mark on the songs he did with them. You couldn’t help but feel the pain in his voice and be overwhelmed with feelings of sadness. We can all relate to losing someone we love, watching them leave and not being able to bring them back despite our begging. So what’s your favorite version?
