On The Verge: Reptar

At 4:15 PM each Tuesday, WERS brings you our On The Verge segment which highlights an artist we think is up-and-coming. This week’s artist On The Verge is the Athens, Geogria-based quartet, Reptar. Reptar—who did indeed name their band after the Rugrats character—consists of singer-guitarist Graham Ulicy, William Kennedy on analog keyboards, drummer Andrew McFarland, and Ryan Engleberger on bass.  The band describes their sound as “sonic wanderlust [that] extends from African Music to post-punk to psych-pop”. This sonic wanderlust can be found on their debut LP, Body Faucets, which was released May 1st through Vagrant Records.

Keep an eye out for them if you’re able to make it down to Tennessee for Bonnaroo this weekend. But in case that’s a little too far for you to drive, tune in this Tuesday at 4:15 pm to hear an exclusive in-studio performance and interview from Reptar only on 88.9 WERS.
