Rolie Polie Guacamole

Rolie Polie Guacamole just played a wonderful set in honor of Live Music Week on the Playground, promoting their new albums and showing their support for public radio. The New York group is celebrating their third Live Music Week at WERS, and is really enthusiastic about the station and unique kid’s programming like the Playground.

They are currently touring in support of their most recent album “House of the Moly”, a cover album that marks the first time the group produced on their own. In addition to the recent release of the CD, members Frank Gallo and Andrew Tuzhilin have also been working on a new album slotted to be released by the end of the year called “Triathlon”. We were treated to the title track on this yet-to-be-released kid’s music gem, and it seems there’s a lot to look forward to.

If this weren’t enough, Rolie Polie Guacamole along with their puppet friends Bird Belly and Racoony are going to take over the air waves very soon! They are still in stages of pre-production for an interactive children’s TV series, but are emphasizing the importance of ensuring they have an ace team before rushing into filming. In the meantime, they’ve expressed interest in producing a podcast to get even more excitement garnered around their multiple pending projects, and will continue to tour around the Massachusetts area and beyond well into the summer.

If you missed Rolie Polie Guacamole on the Playground (and we sure hope you didn’t), you can catch them at upcoming gigs in April and May around the Boston area, or look out for their multiple albums, podcasts, and other great kid’s productions that are bound to take the world by storm.
