Fun at the Playground: Spring Break

Happy February vacation, Playgrounders! Now’s your time to relax, hang out with your family, and have fun. But what if hanging around the house is getting a little stale? Not to worry! There are plenty of family-friendly events going on all around Boston before your school vacation is over, and here are a few of my favorite ones.

The Museum of Fine Arts, Harvard Museum of Natural History, and MIT Museum will all be sponsoring children’s programming all week long in Boston– you can learn about art, dinosaurs, and all things science with a parental chaperone!

If you think you’re a Disney princess, the brand new ice show Disney on Ice: Dare to Dream will be taking place every day up until February 26th at the TD Garden in Boston. The show will feature Princess Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen, and all of your other favorite Disney princesses from years past! There are still tickets available, and they begin at only fifteen dollars each.

Who’s ready for a puppet show? Puppet Showplace Theater in Brookline has been sponsoring shows all vacation, all leading up to Everybody Loves Pirates! performed by the Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers coming this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for eight shows. A Muppet-style show featuring puppets on the high seas, this one is definitely not to be missed! And did we mention tickets are ten dollars apiece?

If you’re heading out into the suburbs, there’s even more exciting vacation programming to look forward to. At the Hertz Nursery School at Temple Israel in Sharon, magician Mike Ben will be performing this Thursday. This Thrusday will also bring a popular Playground act, Ben Rudnick and Friends, to Reading, MA at the Reading Memorial High School for their annual children’s concert. If you’re in the Arlington area, the Philharmonic Society of Arlington will be presenting a show of Musical Fables and Folktales at their Town Hall this Sunday. The Philharmonic Society will be accompanying!

That’s all I got for you, Playgrounders! Remember to stay tuned to the show this weekend for a live performance with Billy Kelly and the Blah Blah Blahs and even more playdates to share!
