First, Nicholas Garlow will explore the science of race. Then, we’ll hear from Kathryn Barnes about the modern civil rights movement. You Are Here reporters Melyssa Cantor and Gillian Barbieri take a look at ethnic heritage celebrations here in Boston. Next, we hear from Steve Burns. He explores discrimination in the modern world. Then reporters Emily Files and Alyssa Edes will touch on current leaders in diversity. To close the show, we’ll hear from the the Henry Kaiser Family Foundation President Drew Altman. He speaks about the Nelson Mandela Award for Health and Human Rights and it’s importance to the South African leader himself.
